ABOUT C. A. P.

Traditionally during times of economic cutbacks, the arts in public schools are the first resources looked upon for cuts. Community Apprenticeship Program and Diamonds & Pearls (CAP) sees the problem and is addressing the problem in a language individuals of all ages can recognize – the universal language of the arts and music. These type of cuts are usually detrimental and hinders the vital educational aspects that children need to become well rounded individuals in society. Additionally, such cuts contribute to the hindering of their social and economic advancement in society. This is extremely important in minority communities. CAP will give children the opportunity to achieve and grow individually.

CAP will help children transform their lives through the creative process of teaching them skills in culinary art, media art and digital music. We will utilize over 30 years of culinary, arts and music expertise to create a multi-disciplined approach to education that is centered on the individuals and their interest. CAP will instill confidence, stress the importance of independent choices and the pursuit of meaningful opportunities to share ideas and dreams. The children will also be challenged to develop his or her inner gifts as they acquire the tools to succeed in life and careers in the fields of culinary art, media art and digital music.
